Caden Chapman is a student and a teacher most days. As one of four children in his family, he looks up to one and babysits another. “I try to get my baby brother to be nice, talk to people, to use good communication skills,” he says.

Those skills will come in handy as the Dudley freshman follows his dreams to a career as a computer engineer. As part of the inaugural class of shift_ed SEO Scholars, he is on his way.

He doesn’t know yet where that journey will take him, but he’s excited about the possibilities. “I applied to SEO scholars to help me navigate what I want to do and what college I want to go.”

The experience already has him thinking about how he might give back one day. “I want to be a mentor,” he says.
