Smooth Transitions, Strong Foundations

Big changes happen at key points in a student’s journey—starting kindergarten, moving into middle school, and beginning high school. These milestones can be exciting but also challenging for students and their families. On the first day, every student should walk into school feeling confident, prepared, and supported by their family, school, and community.

shift_ed believes that smooth transitions at these pivotal stages create lifelong benefits. That’s why we host annual Pre-K to 12th Grade Resource Fairs across Guilford County, connecting families with essential services—from academic support and mental health care to before- and after-school programs, summer opportunities, healthcare, and food resources.

By bringing together schools, nonprofits, faith communities, and local service providers, shift_ed helps build a strong network of support so students can approach each new chapter with confidence and the tools they need to succeed.
