Opening Doors to Future Careers
Each year, shift_ed partners with Guilford County Schools’ Career-Technical Education (CTE) department and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce to host World of Work, a hands-on career exploration event for all 8th graders.
Building on their YouScience Aptitude Assessment results, students connect their unique aptitudes with real-world industries right here in our community.
Under one roof, a wide range of employers and professionals share their expertise, answer questions, and spark curiosity about what’s possible. By meeting the people who work in the jobs they’re interested in, students expand their understanding of career paths, gain inspiration, and begin to see a clear link between their skills, passions, and future opportunities.
“You can’t be it if you can’t see it.”
— Marian Wright Edelman
