About Richard Nogosi
In June 2025, Richard Ngosi stepped in to the role of vice president of manufacturing at Toyota NC, the company’s first US-based battery plant. In this role, he oversees all areas of manufacturing, including engineering, maintenance and production.
Originally from Malawi, Southeast Africa, Richard joined Toyota Motor Corporation in 2006 and supported extensive international projects for Toyota in Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Russia, Indonesia, India, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Turkey and the US. He earned bachelors degrees in electrical and electronics engineering as well as a master’s degree in computer science from Waseda University, located in Tokyo, Japan.
Richard has already immersed himself in supporting NC and recently joined the shift_ed board. He brings a keen understanding of workforce development needs in our community, a dedication to investing in equitable public education opportunities and a unique global viewpoint as we image what might be possible in NC. We are honored to have Richard speak at our 10th anniversary Impact Lunch!
