10TH GRADE SEO SCHOLARS PROGRAM MANAGER

Heidi Liles grew up in Littleton, NC and went to Western Carolina where she graduated with a Bachelor of Sociology and Psychology. Graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro was next for the scholar, where she earned a Masters of Sociology and   Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Teaching Sociology. A love of teaching was born.

Liles taught undergraduate level Sociology courses at UNCG and Guilford Technical Community College and was a First Year Experience Specialist at UNCG, supporting students through their first year at college.

Not only can she teach, she can skate – ice skate! “I have learned some fun tricks after taking lessons,” she says. “I am also an avid reader and am always looking for new books and genres.” She has two little ones at home — the sweetest dog, Nahla and adorable cat, Winter who are always by her side.

“I have furthered my education so that I can be someone who gives back and shares knowledge with others and break down barriers to access to education,” Liles says. “I am fueled with excitement and passion about taking what I have learned through my own professional and academic journeys to further shift_ed’s vision for serving and equipping students with the knowledge and skills for success in all areas of their lives here in our community.”
