COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Mobility Project 2040

In 2026, a new class of kindergarten students will take their first steps into school.  By 2040, these same students will be stepping into college or launching careers.

The Mobility Project 2040 is mobilizing community leaders, organizations, and families to build a cradle-to-career ecosystem that ensures students are well-prepared for college, thriving careers and a vibrant life.

By creating a web of support and opportunity,  we are driving systemic change that helps Guilford County children and families thrive.

Beyond High School

Uniting Voices, Aligning Resources, Driving Change

The Mobility Project 2040 is  a bold, community-driven effort to ensure every child and family in Guilford County has the support they need to thrive. The Project brings together organizations, educators, business leaders, and residents to collaborate on shared solutions, align resources, and amplify the voices of those most impacted. Through quarterly convenings and ongoing partnerships, this initiative creates space for listening, learning, and action—turning collective energy into lasting systemic change. By working together, we can expand educational opportunities, strengthen families, and build a more equitable future for our community.

The Mobility Project 2040 Report

Four key pillars form the foundation for the Mobility Project 2040:  Access to Essentials, Collaborative Education, Workforce Pathways and Community Empowerment. These pillars align our community’s vast resources to meet student needs. To learn more about this work, download our latest report.
